<p><strong>Scripture Reading:</strong> <em>“He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much.” - Luke 16:10</em></p><p>Brothers and sisters in Christ, many people dream of doing great things for God. We want to have strong faith, powerful prayers, successful ministries, and a life that makes a difference. But sometimes, we forget that greatness in the eyes of God often begins with faithfulness in small things.</p><p>God does not only look at what we do in public. He also sees what we do when no one is watching. He sees the small choices, the quiet prayers, the simple acts of kindness, the honest work, the patience we show, and the love we give even when it is not noticed.</p><p>In the Christian life, little things matter.</p><p>A small word of encouragement can lift a discouraged heart. A short prayer can bring peace to a troubled soul. A simple visit can comfort someone who feels alone. A small act of honesty can become a powerful witness. A little time spent with God each day can strengthen our faith for greater trials.</p><p>Jesus said that the one who is faithful in little things will also be faithful in much. This means that God prepares us for greater responsibilities through daily faithfulness.</p><p>David was faithful while taking care of sheep before he became king. Joseph was faithful as a servant and prisoner before he became a ruler in Egypt. Daniel was faithful in prayer before he stood before kings. Their greatness did not begin in the palace. It began in the ordinary moments of life.</p><p>As Seventh-day Adventist Christians, we are called to live faithfully while waiting for the soon return of Jesus. But readiness for Christ’s coming is not only shown in big events or loud declarations. It is shown in daily surrender.</p><p>Are we faithful in our prayer life?<br />Are we faithful in keeping the Sabbath holy?<br />Are we faithful in our words, our work, our family, and our responsibilities?<br />Are we faithful in loving others, even when it is difficult?<br />Are we faithful in doing what is right, even when no one sees?</p><p>Sometimes we think that small sins do not matter, small compromises are harmless, and small duties are not important. But little choices shape the heart. A small compromise, repeated many times, can lead a person away from God. But small acts of obedience, repeated daily, can build a strong Christian character.</p><p>The Christian life is not built in one day. It is built day by day, prayer by prayer, choice by choice.</p><p>God is not asking us to be famous. He is asking us to be faithful.</p><p>Maybe today, your work feels unnoticed. Your service in the church may seem small. Your prayers may feel simple. Your efforts may not be appreciated by others. But remember this: heaven sees what people often ignore. God values every faithful act done with love.</p><p>Colossians 3:23 reminds us, “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.”</p><p>When we clean, serve, teach, lead, help, give, pray, or work, we must do it for the Lord. Human praise may fade, but God’s reward is sure.</p><p>Brothers and sisters, Jesus Himself showed faithfulness in humble service. He washed the feet of His disciples. He touched the sick. He welcomed children. He comforted sinners. He served with love. If the King of the universe was willing to serve in humble ways, then we too must be faithful in the little things.</p><p>As we wait for the soon coming of Jesus, let us not become careless. Let us not wait for big opportunities before we serve God. Let us begin today—with our family, our church, our workplace, our school, and our community.</p><p>Be faithful in prayer.<br />Be faithful in worship.<br />Be faithful in kindness.<br />Be faithful in honesty.<br />Be faithful in Sabbath keeping.<br />Be faithful in service.<br />Be faithful even in the little things.</p><p>Because one day, when Jesus comes, the greatest words we can hear are not, “Well done, famous servant,” or “Well done, talented servant,” but “Well done, good and faithful servant.”</p><p><strong>Appeal</strong></p><p>Today, God is calling us to renew our commitment to Him. Let us ask the Lord to help us become faithful not only in big responsibilities, but also in the small daily choices of life.</p><p>May our homes, our church, and our hearts be filled with faithful service. And may we be ready to meet Jesus when He comes again.</p><p><strong>Prayer</strong></p><p>Our loving Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding us that faithfulness begins in the little things. Help us to serve You with humble hearts. Teach us to be faithful in prayer, in worship, in our work, in our words, and in our daily choices. Forgive us for the times we have been careless or unfaithful. Strengthen us through the Holy Spirit, and prepare us for the soon return of Jesus. May our lives bring honor and glory to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.</p>

<p>Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, today I will deliver this message to reflect on a powerful lesson from the Bible, a lesson about faith, obedience, and the consequences of our actions. Our sermon is titled "Speak to the Rock," and it revolves around the story of Moses striking the rock. This story can be found in the book of Numbers, chapter 20, verses 7-12. Let's turn to those verses now and read them together.</p>

*"The Lord said to Moses, 'Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes, and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so they and their livestock can drink.' So Moses took the staff from the Lord's presence, just as he commanded him. He and Aaron gathered the assembly together in front of the rock, and Moses said to them, 'Listen, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock?' Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank. But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, 'Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them.'"</blockquote>
<h4>I. The Rock as a Symbol:</h4>
<p>In this passage, the rock serves as a powerful symbol. It represents not only the physical needs of the Israelites but also our spiritual needs and God's faithfulness. In the same way, Jesus is often referred to as the "Rock" in the New Testament, our foundation and the source of living water for our souls.</p>
<h4>II. The Command to Speak:</h4>
<p>God instructed Moses to "speak to the rock." He didn't tell him to strike it. This is a vital lesson for us. God's commands are not arbitrary; they have a purpose. Speaking to the rock symbolizes prayer, faith, and trust in God's provision. It reminds us that in our times of need, we should turn to God in faith, believing that He will provide for us.</p>
<p>Psalm 19:14 (NIV):<br />
"May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer."</p>
<h4>III. Moses' Mistake:</h4>
<p>Moses, however, made a crucial mistake. He allowed frustration and anger to cloud his judgment. Instead of speaking to the rock as God commanded, he struck it twice with his staff. This act of disobedience had consequences. It cost Moses the privilege of entering the Promised Land.</p>

"As has just been said: 'Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.'"</p>
<h4>IV. Lessons for Us:</h4>
<p>What can we learn from Moses' mistake?</p>

	<li><strong>Faith Over Anger:</strong> When we face trials or frustrations, we must remember to turn to God in faith rather than reacting out of anger or impatience.<br />

James 1:19-20 (NIV):<br />
"My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires."</li>
	<li><strong>God's Faithfulness:</strong> Despite Moses' mistake, God still provided water for His people. Our heavenly Father is gracious and merciful, always providing for our needs.<br />
<br />
Philippians 4:19 (NIV):<br />
"And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus."</li>

<h4>Conclusion:</h4>
<p>Dear brothers and sisters, the story of Moses striking the rock teaches us the importance of faith, obedience, and trust in God's provision. Let us turn to the Gospel of Luke, chapter 8, verses 16-18, to uncover the wisdom Jesus shared with His disciples.</p>

<p>Central to the teachings of Christianity is the commandment to love one's neighbor as oneself. In Mark 12:31 (NIV), Jesus states, "The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these." Selfishness contradicts this fundamental principle, as it places one's desires and needs above those of others. <h4>I. Embracing Identity in Christ:</h4>
<p>Christian youth are not just the future of the Church; they are essential members of the body of Christ today. Embracing their identity in Christ empowers them to live purpose-driven lives. Just as the psalmist declared, "I am fearfully and wonderfully made," our young people must understand their worth as beloved children of God. This knowledge anchors their faith and influences every aspect of their lives.</p>
<h4>II. Engaging with God's Word:</h4>
<p>The Bible is not merely a book of stories; it's a roadmap for life. The apostle Paul's encouragement to Timothy, "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers," reminds our youth of their potential to influence others through their actions.</p>

<p>Doubts and fears are common experiences, even among the faithful. Our youth should know that they are not alone in these struggles. Just as God encouraged Joshua with the words, "Be strong and courageous," our young people can find strength in God's promises. Encouraging open conversations and providing a supportive community can help them overcome doubts and fears.</p>

<p>Love is a powerful emotion. It can bring joy and peace to our lives, and it can also bring pain and sorrow. But no matter what, it is a feeling that we cannot ignore. As Christians, we are called to love one another. We are called to be patient, kind, and understanding, and to treat others with respect and compassion.</p>
<p>The Bible is full of examples of God’s love for us. In the Old Testament, God showed his love for the Israelites by leading them through the wilderness and providing for them. In the New Testament, Jesus demonstrated his love for us by dying on the cross for our sins.</p>
<p>God commands us to love one another, and this commandment is not difficult to keep. We can show love to those around us by being generous, forgiving, and encouraging. We can also spread love by simply being there for someone in their time of need.</p>
<p>Love is a beautiful thing, but it is also a powerful force. We must use it to build up and strengthen relationships, not tear them down. We must use it to bring peace and harmony into the world and not to bring chaos and destruction.</p>
<p>We must remember that love is not something that can be taken for granted. It is something that we must actively pursue and nurture. Let us strive to be people of love, and may the love of God be with us always. Amen.</p>

<p>If the 2 billion plus people who are classified as Christians were true Christians we would have a totally different world. We would have lesser number of very poor people, much lesser number of crimes, and an increasing number of people who make other people happy.</p>
<p>Unfortunately and very sadly too, most of the 2 billion or more who say they are Christians are false Christians. They are not true as they do not show the signs of a real Christian.</p>
<p>We have fake money bills, fake documents, fake transcripts of records, fake certificates, fake signatures. But the worst and most dangerous counterfeit is not money or document but a fake Christian. The reason is because a fake Christian can create havoc not just in the banks or in employment but in all the sectors of society.</p>
<p>It was fake Christians who have been waging wars all through these centuries, including the two world wars, putting to death millions of human beings.</p>
<p>To recognize who these fake Christians are we need to know the signs of a true Christian. There are three main signs.</p>
<p><strong>First, the true Christian is one who is no longer seeking for something in this world to save himself or make himself happy.</strong> If you have been to an Easter Party with an Easter egg, you would know what I mean.</p>
<p>In an Easter Party where the people search for the Easter egg you see children and adults walking around, searching for the coveted Easter egg, a colored egg hidden in furniture, in grass, in other places around the venue of the party. They keep on looking for this Easter egg until it is found. Most of the time there are many of such egg and people look for more and more of them, until the moderator of the game tells the partying people that the total number of Easter eggs have been found.</p>
<p>That is what most people do. They are looking for something that can make them happy. Some people think that this is found in money and more money, and so they acquire more of this. Others think that this is found in having three good meals a day, a sturdy roof over their head, and a set of comfortable clothes. So they work for these from day to day. Still others think that they can find happiness in honor. So they search for ways and means to become celebrities, whether at school, in the movie industry or in politics or in other areas.</p>
<p>The true Christian has found genuine happiness and knows where she has found this, in an encounter with God in Christ. This encounter happens when she has heard personally the word of God spoken to her and she has responded accordingly. Without this personal experience of God addressing oneself there is no real Christian.</p>
<p>This personal experience with the word of God is not something reserved to the saints or great Christians. This is the necessary experience of every true Christian. This makes the person discover where true happiness lies, in Christ and in him alone.</p>
<p>Because of this experience, the true Christian stops looking for something to truly satisfy her thirst for happiness. She has found it and it shows in her life. She does not come and go here and there searching for something to make her happy. She has found happiness and it shows in her demeanor.</p>
<p><strong>The second main sign of a true Christian is that she is learning about the Christ.</strong> And this shows in her thoughts and in her words.</p>
<p>A simple but very correct definition of a Christian is that she is a learner of the Jesus, because the basic meaning of "disciple" in Greek is "learner". If a Christian is a disciple of Christ, then she is a learner. She learns something of Jesus every day.</p>
<p>To do this she has a book or a string of beads to meditate on the life and works of the Christ. And she does this not because she has been told to do so by a teacher in religion or Bible study group. She does this because she loves Christ and she wants to know more about him. This is done on a daily basis, not once in a while.</p>
<p>This second sign of a true Christian disqualifies almost all those who even go to church daily or once a week to be called real Christians. This is because they are content with going to church daily or once a week and never advance in their personal knowledge of Christ.</p>
<p><strong>The third sign of a true Christian is something that Jesus himself said was the true sign of his followers.</strong> And this sign is something that cannot be faked. It is so simple and yet it cannot be produced by mere human effort. It is produced by God in us and through us. Unless this sign is clear in our lives we cannot say that we are real Christians.</p>
<p><strong>This third sign is love.</strong></p>
<p>But is it not just a wishy-washy kind of love. It is love that endures through death and even beyond death. It is not a fine feeling for the person next to you whom you happen to like.</p>
<p>Beyond love of God and love of neighbor, this is love of other true Christians. The true Christian senses a deep affinity with other true Christians, an affinity stronger than family ties. And she loves the other true Christians not with her human love but with the love of Christ himself.</p>
<p>Now, how is this love of Christ himself for the other true Christians shown so that other people can see it? It is shown by caring unto the uttermost, just as Jesus cared for that person to the uttermost.</p>
<p>These are the three main signs of a true Christian: 1) The true Christian no longer is looking for something to make her happy; she has found what makes her totally happy through a personal encounter with the word of God. 2) The true Christian learns about the Christ daily. She discovers something new about the Christ everyday. And she keeps on learning about the Christ. 3) The true Christian has a genuine love for the other true Christians, a love that comes from Jesus himself, shown by caring for the other Christians to the uttermost.</p>
<p>It is not baptism nor any other sacrament, nor doing good deeds to our fellow men, nor going to church and performing religious or church activities that tell others we are true Christians. It is sense of total happiness radiating around us, a continuous desire to learn more of Christ, and genuine Christ's love for the other true Christian that tell others we are true Christians.</p>
